Dead Dogs
No one kicks a dead dog, nor does Satan, who here, is more the concern, believe me,
For if he’s not bothering us, we’re not interesting him, undoubtedly.
He hardly wastes much time on those who’re snoozing, lukewarm, as he doesn’t need to,
For they pose little threat to him, even many of his attractions pursue.
No, Satan’s more interested in those who have no desire to compromise,
Those who’re seriously committed, faithful, and who with Scripture harmonize,
Those who point out his wickedness, his traps, his plans, and his global strategy,
In order to deprive him of victims, who could well forfeit eternity.
Yes, it’s these Christians that Satan’s after, and is it any wonder, dear friend,
For the God that he hates is the very God that they vigorously defend.
And their witness testifies of this God, uplifts Him, which irks Satan greatly,
Hence his attempts to discourage them via his attacks, evil skullduggery.
And hence why he doesn’t kick dead dogs, those who’re little threat, those who just warm pews,
For such, rather than interesting him, or angering him, simply amuse.
Such even aid and abet him, for they dilute, mix, dismantle and confuse,
Won’t heed watchmen on the wall — but rather, just flirt with the world, foolishly snooze.
Therefore, take heart, dear friend, if beset by troubles, despite walking faithfully,
For Satan doesn’t bother with dead dogs, snoozers, the lukewarm fraternity.
He knows that while they remain so, there’s every chance they’ll be lost eternally,
Unlike those he’s attacking, who, if they remain faithful, soon Jesus will see.
Yes, Satan’s only after the faithful, those who soldier on despite the cost,
For he knows that he’s simply wasting time bothering those who’re as good as lost,
They being, those who just like the foolish virgins, are slumbering dangerously,
Those unaware of their true condition, or who’ve a false sense of security.
Satan knows that the narrow way isn’t easy, that most fall by the wayside,
So, like the vulture he is, he skulks around, insures more pressure’s applied.
He waits to see who’ll drop their cross under increasing satanic artillery,
Hoping to add to his pile of kindling that’ll soon be torched apocalyptically.
Yes, take heart, dear friend, for if the devil is bothering you, that’s a good sign,
For Satan’s only interested in those branches still attached to the Vine.
It’s only those bearing fruit that incur his wrath and receive his attention,
And so it will be, consequently, ’til Christ’s second coming intervention.
Meantime, you’ll be maligned, misquoted, ridiculed, opposed, accused, mistreated,
Even by your own, not just Satan, who at Calvary was soundly defeated.
And you may even suffer to the point of death if you’re truly faithful to the Lord,
But hold fast, be faithful, for eternal life with Him will soon be your reward.
And ’midst these trials that beset, perplex and distress, He will be there beside you,
Empowering, uplifting, showering you with His love and care, guiding you through.
And sometimes even carrying you, for that’s grace, love, reason to hang in there,
A living witness, no dead dog or other, a victor, devout and sincere.
Our faith must be tested and character refined in the fires of adversity,
For it’s such that determines genuineness, the degree of our loyalty.
Heaven’s for the faithful, not dead dogs or other, for such are a mockery,
And would hardly be at home in Heaven given they’re halfhearted and worldly.
Such hardly interest Satan, but they do interest Christ though, for He cares,
Hence those wakeup calls, even judgments, in order to save them from Satan’s snares.
Yes, in order to rescue them, for love doesn’t even want dead dogs lost, but,
Should they not respond to His promptings, they’ll soon find that Heaven’s gates have shut.

Betrayers Of Christ
Those who’ve become Christians, (taking them at face value here), and yet are still wilfully indulging in sin,
Are simply serving two masters, (though it could be argued only the one), and therefore are hardly genuine.
Such Christians are behaving just like bigamists, and bigamists soon come unstuck — victims of their own folly,
Yes, unfaithfulness often being their undoing, for surely everyone knows that there’s a price for adultery.
And unfaithful such truly are — effectively attempting to please more than one spouse — which is simply folly,
For our God has said that He’s a very jealous God, one who wants a bride who believes in acting loyally.
That is, one who is only interested in Him, one who conveys such in a way that all can clearly see,
Thus walking the talk, providing evidence, sights set on a relationship that’ll last for eternity.
No Christian can be seventy-five percent faithful to God, for the truth is, we’re either faithful or not,
And those who aren’t faithful to their Lord and Saviour, are Christians who are generally very easy to spot.
And, let me add here, very quick to make God jealous, for who’s getting the other twenty-five percent, or more?
All of which shows divided loyalties, and is hardly flattering, given that only God one should adore.
Thus, one soon coming day, God’s jealousy will turn to wrath, and a painful break-up will occur, permanently,
That is, regarding those Christians who have roving eyes, for such Christians can’t be trusted, taken seriously.
Yes, such hardly do our God any favours, nor the Christian cause, for unfaithfulness is the world’s signature,
Which is written in the hearts and minds of those who’re into such fornication — betrayers of Christ, whose end is sure...
Unless they repent, and soon.
