Poetry With A Mission

...a thought provoking poetical exercise.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Rom 3:23, NKJV).

“For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Jesus Christ” (1 Tim 2:5, NKJV).

I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved…” (John 10:9, NKJV).

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me’” (John 14:6, NKJV).

“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household” (Acts 16:31, NKJV).

“You shall not make for yourself any carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in the heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I am a jealous  God…” (Ex 20:4,5, NKJV).  Note: This is the second Commandment.

“Then I [John the Revelator] fell at his feet to worship him [the angel]. And he said unto me, ‘See thou do it not: I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God [God only]…’ ” (Rev 19:10, KJV).

“She will bear a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins” (Matt 1:21, NKJV).

“And she gave birth to her first born son…” (Luke 2:7, NIV).

“Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After his mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit” (Matt 1:18, NKJV).

“And he knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS” (Matt 1:25, KJV).

“The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband” (1 Cor 7:3).

“And Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour for He has been mindful of the humble state of His servant. From now on all the generations will call me blessed for the Mighty One has done great things for me — holy is His name” (Luke 1:46-49, NIV).

“As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, “Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you.” He relied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it” (Luke 11:27, NIV)

“Yet all these [faithful Bible heroes of all the ages] though they were commended for their faith, DID NOT RECEIVE what was promised [eternal life, immortality], since God had provided something better [much fairer] SO THAT THEY WOULD NOT, APART FROM US, BE MADE PERFECT [immortal. They will have to wait, including Mary]”  (Heb 11:39,40).

“The coming of the lawless one is apparent in the working of Satan, who uses all power, signs, lying wonders,  and every kind of wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth  and so be saved...” (2 Thess 2:9-11).

Mary, Mother Of Jesus

Make no mistake, for the Word of God makes two things absolutely clear:
One: There's only ONE redeemer — CHRIST — and He alone we're to revere.
Two: There is only ONE mediator — yes, Christ again, by design,
Which means, there's NO co-redeemer, co-mediator — human or divine.

Therefore, Mary did not play, nor plays, any part in our salvation,
And in God’s eyes, to state that she did, would be an abomination.
No, Mary couldn’t be and isn’t involved in Christ’s mediation,
Hence why Mary shouldn't be given some kind of glorification.

And note this: Mary was not blessed above all women, but was simply
The most blessed among women — a Jew, one who was chosen divinely.
Mary, just like us, was a sinner, for ALL have sinned, we’re clearly told,
Which makes her a mere mortal like us — exact same stock, exact same mould.

Therefore, any who exalt her are acting most un-biblically,
For she was simply a vehicle — and nothing more — though deemed worthy.
Thus, we’re not to bow down in veneration to her, for that is SIN,
And nor are we to worship angels, be they cherub or seraphim.

As well, we're not to bow before idols, worshiping indirectly,
Which includes not making such, as making such, is acting incorrectly.
For after all, the second Commandment forbids such, and rightly so,
Given God is worshiped directly, not via men or idols below.

Thus, taking any glory away from God via idols, men, or Mary,
Is not only a GREAT SIN, but it is acting ILLOGICALLY.
For surely all Christians know that only CHRIST can save and mediate,
As it has to be someone who's SINLESS, DIVINE — Christ, our advocate.

And hence why our God won’t and can’t co-this or co-that accommodate,
Yes, there’s no co-redeemer, co-mediator — I reiterate.
And as far as Mary goes, she certainly needed a Saviour too,
For just like us, she was a fallen being too, a human through and through.

That Mary remained a virgin as some claim, isn't found in Scripture,
And such isn’t even logical — just a generated picture.
Besides, celibacy doesn’t make one sinless, holy, nor a saint,
For what God has blessed in marriage is hardly sin, and does not taint.

Plus, “Before they came together,” suggests sexual activity
That would have occurred after our Lord's birth between Joseph and Mary.
And that Joseph “Knew her not until she had brought forth her firstborn son,”
Also suggests sexual activity that later had begun.

Christ, via Mary’s birth canal, entered this fallen world that we live in,
In other words, in the very same manner as us, though without sin.
This, God's Holy Word confirms, for Mary, “Gave birth to her firstborn son,”
And “firstborn” implies that she had more children, and not only just one.

And note this...

Mary still remains in her grave just like all the saints who are long dead,
And can no more help us than help herself, for her grave she hasn’t fled.
Yes, for she too awaits Christ’s soon return, and that Resurrection day
When all who've been faithful — and together — will Heavenward wing their way.

And therefore, any weeping statue, or some ghostly apparition,
Is just the work of Satan who plays on falsehood and superstition.
For he knows that his time is short, and is therefore leading folk astray,
As he's just a liar, who misleading signs and wonders will display.
