More Than True

If there’s one thing you should know, it’s that Jesus understands,
For they spat on Him, mocked Him, drove nails through His feet and hands.
Yes, they hung Him on a cross, and then left Him there to die,
Yet, despite that, “Forgive them, Father,” He was heard to cry.

If there’s one thing you should know, it’s that Jesus really cares,
Knows of all your struggles, trials, notices all your tears.
And when He’s sought in prayer, there’s not a word He doesn’t hear,
Nor a burden He won’t bear, if you’ll only with Him share.

If there’s one thing you should know, it’s that Jesus’ love is vast,
His interest in you, and loving watch care, unsurpassed.
Yes, not a day goes by where He is unaware of you,
Nor that which is in your best interest forgets to pursue.

If there’s one thing you should know, it’s that Jesus never fails,
He’s always at the helm, always in control, midst life’s gales.
He can get you through each storm, and across each angry sea,
Supply you with His power so you’ll gain the victory.

If there’s one thing you should know, it’s that Jesus is for real,
Something you’ll discover if you humble your heart and kneel,
If you surrender to His will, seeking Him earnestly,
No longer desiring to sin — remorseful, genuinely.

If there’s one thing you should know, it’s that Jesus offers grace,
Hence why up in Heaven He’s been reserving you a place.
He dearly wants you there with Him, He misses you so much,
And knows it’s only His grace that’ll free you from Satan’s clutch.

If there’s one thing you should know, it is all of the above,
For this God who reigns on high is a God of truth and love.
Yes, you can rest assured that all I’m saying here is true,
For love and truth met on Calvary where He bled for you.

While I Still Have Time

I know my days are numbered, that death isn’t far away,
Thus, all the more so, my Saviour’s will I’ll do and convey.
As long as I live and breathe, I’ll serve Him with all my heart,
And from the safety of His loving arms I won’t depart.

Yes, while I still have time, I will tell of His wondrous love,
How He watches over me, even though enthroned above.
How He died that I might live, how He shed His blood for me,
How He listens when I pray, and always attentively.

I’ll tell of His amazing grace that spares a wretch like me,
How His robe of righteousness covers undeservedly.
I’ll tell of how He’s waiting with arms that are open wide,
And how every day, and every step, He’s right there beside.

I’ll tell of this living Saviour, this King who reigns on high,
Who though I’m so unworthy, refuses to pass me by.
I’ll tell of how He loves me, and repeat it constantly,
As Jesus wants to share His love with all humanity.

Yes, I know my days are numbered, we’ve three score years and ten —
Or thereabouts — the life span of fallen women and men.
But what years I’ve remaining (how many I do not know),
I’ll use to seek, do, and convey my Lord’s will, and more so.

Calvary

Oh, Calvary, Calvary, let me sing of Calvary,
For there on a cross my Saviour declared His love for me.
Yes, there He said, “I love you,” and, “Unconditionally,”
And there provided a heavenly opportunity.

That is, life with Him eternally, courtesy of grace —
His grace — generously gifted, which I willingly embrace.
After all, no one could offer what He is offering,
And hence why of Calvary I’ll joyfully boast and sing.

Oh, Calvary, Calvary, let me sing of Calvary,
Where Jesus displayed His love for me, and abundantly.
And where He broke the shackles that bound me to the devil,
So that I in the bosom of His love could always revel.

Yes, Calvary, Calvary, how I’ll sing of Calvary,
For there on a cross my Saviour bled for me, rescued me.
There He stormed the gates of Hell, removed death’s sting, set me free,
Which is why I praise His name, am grateful for Calvary.
